How We Actually Test the Games We Review

June 13, 2026 · Lukas Berger

Every review here starts with someone playing the game properly. Not the tutorial and a screenshot, but the full arc, ideally to the end of the main content. That's the only way to know if a game holds up.

We test on more than one device, because performance can swing wildly between a flagship and an older phone. A game that stutters on mid-range hardware is worth mentioning, and we do.

We also take notes as we go, so the review reflects how the game felt across dozens of hours, not just a first-night high. That's why our verdicts sometimes cool off from the excitement of hour one.

Only after all that does a score get assigned, and it's always a discussion, never one person's call in isolation.
